The Louisiana State Museum is seeking an energetic individual to coordinate, develop and evaluate school, family and outreach programs. Duties include supervision of an associate curator of education and outreach, training volunteer docents to work with school groups, development of curriculum-related materials and programs, designing educational materials in conjunction with exhibitions, and coordinating Louisianas participation in National History Day.
Requirements are a baccalaureate degree (a masters degree is preferred) in American history, American studies, anthropology, archaeology, art history, cultural geography, historic preservation, history, historical geography, museum studies, musicology or fine arts, followed by three (3) years of professional level museum curatorial experience. Salary range $1674-2765 month plus benefits package.
